Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, blood products, pharmaceuticals, and sensitive equipment between hospitals, labs, and clinics
- Maintain strict temperature control protocols for time-sensitive materials
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and chain-of-custody documentation procedures
- Optimize routes using GPS navigation to ensure timely deliveries across Austin metro
- Communicate professionally with healthcare providers regarding delivery status
- Perform vehicle maintenance checks and quality inspections before each shift
- Respond proactively to urgent delivery requests with exceptional time sensitivity
Qualifications
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record (no moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years experience in medical courier or healthcare logistics
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification or willingness to obtain
- Proficiency with electronic logging systems and route optimization software
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate temperature-controlled equipment
- Strong attention to detail and HIPAA compliance knowledge
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications preferred
