Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, blood products, and pharmaceuticals using temperature-controlled vehicles
- Maintain chain-of-custody documentation for sensitive medical materials
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and biohazard handling protocols
- Optimize delivery routes using GPS technology for time-sensitive medical shipments
- Provide exceptional service to healthcare facilities with precise pickup/delivery scheduling
- Perform vehicle safety inspections and maintenance checks
- Communicate delivery status updates to dispatch and clients in real-time
Qualifications
- Valid Class C driver's license with clean driving record (no moving violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years medical courier or healthcare logistics experience
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong knowledge of Richmond metro area and major healthcare facilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate temperature-controlled equipment
- Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills
- Background check and drug screen required
