Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes and field trips
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Manage student behavior according to district policies
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, students, and staff
- Complete accurate incident and maintenance reports
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement
- Pass Department of Transportation physical and drug screening
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts if needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working with children preferred
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and occasional evenings
