Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from school and extracurricular activities following designated routes
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logs
- Implement strict safety protocols during loading/unloading procedures
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Manage student behavior with professionalism and positive reinforcement
- Adhere to all federal/state transportation regulations and school policies
- Respond promptly to route changes and emergency situations
- Maintain clean and orderly bus interior at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Maryland Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and effectively
- Physical ability to assist students with mobility needs
- Strong knowledge of Baltimore City streets and traffic patterns
