Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, organs, blood products, and pharmaceuticals via climate-controlled vehicles
- Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and chain-of-custody documentation for all sensitive materials
- Adhere to precise delivery schedules using GPS routing and real-time tracking systems
- Perform vehicle inspections, sanitation protocols, and temperature monitoring daily
- Communicate proactively with medical facilities and dispatch regarding delivery status
- Handle hazardous materials training and emergency protocols for medical shipments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve delivery exceptions
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record (no DUIs in past 5 years)
- 1+ years of medical courier or healthcare logistics experience
- Certification in bloodborne pathogens and hazardous materials handling
- Proficiency with mobile delivery apps and electronic documentation systems
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Exceptional time management and attention to detail for critical deliveries
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Pass background check and drug screening
