Responsibilities
- Safe Operation: Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently to deliver freight to designated locations in and around Seattle.
- Loading & Unloading: Load and unload cargo using forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution.
- Maintenance Checks: Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate delivery logs, delivery receipts, and vehicle inspection reports.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.
- Customer Service: Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B (depending on vehicle type).
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience.
- Record: Clean driving record (MVR check) with no serious violations.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to Detail: Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail regarding cargo safety.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
