Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight within Virginia and surrounding regions
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology while adhering to delivery deadlines
- Conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment handling techniques
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic records
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Adhere to all DOT regulations and safety protocols
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Knowledge of Richmond metro area road networks
