Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and tractor-trailers in a safe and efficient manner on regional routes.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring cargo is secured properly and safely.
- Complete all required documentation, including daily logs (DOT), bills of lading, and delivery receipts.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Manage inventory and cargo integrity during transit.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience in commercial truck driving.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state trucking regulations and traffic laws.
- Ability to lift and carry cargo up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Flexibility to work varied schedules, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Basic computer literacy for logging and reporting.
