Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to transport freight within Washington DC metropolitan area
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate DOT logs
- Plan efficient routes using GPS technology to ensure timely deliveries
- Coordinate with warehouse staff for proper loading/unloading procedures
- Adhere to all federal/state regulations and company safety protocols
- Communicate delivery status and potential delays to dispatch team
- Maintain clean driving record and comply with Hours of Service regulations
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with at least 2 years commercial driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Knowledge of Washington DC traffic patterns and delivery zones
- Proficiency in using electronic logging devices and GPS systems
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- DOT medical certification and ability to pass background check
