Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles to transport freight safely and efficiently across Michigan
- Maintain detailed delivery logs and electronic documentation systems
- Perform pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Coordinate with dispatch team for optimal route planning and delivery timing
- Ensure secure loading/unloading of specialized cargo using proper equipment
- Adapt schedules to accommodate customer delivery windows and personal commitments
- Comply with all FMCSA regulations and local transportation ordinances
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years commercial trucking experience in freight transport
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with Detroit metro routes and Michigan highway systems
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices and transportation software
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holiday coverage
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Pass background check and drug screening requirements
