Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty dump trucks on various job sites throughout Tucson and the surrounding region.
- Load and unload materials efficiently and securely using appropriate rigging and lifting equipment.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and driver's daily logs as required by federal law.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site managers to coordinate delivery schedules and traffic conditions.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety policies, and company procedures.
- Report any mechanical issues or safety hazards immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks or heavy construction vehicles.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Good problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to safety and punctuality.
- Hazmat endorsement is a plus.
