Responsibilities
- Safely load, transport, and unload construction materials, aggregates, and debris to various job sites.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate daily logs and comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies.
- Secure loads properly using straps, chains, and binders to prevent shifting or spillage during transit.
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws, speed limits, and safety protocols while operating heavy machinery.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, site managers, and other crew members to coordinate logistics.
- Report any mechanical issues or accidents immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or B with appropriate endorsements (Class A preferred for dump trucks).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience driving dump trucks in a commercial setting.
- Must possess a clean driving record (no major violations within the last 3 years).
- Strong understanding of load securement techniques and DOT safety regulations.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, rain, and cold.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy equipment and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen prior to employment.
