Responsibilities
- Operate heavy dump trucks to transport loose materials such as sand, gravel, dirt, and asphalt to various job sites.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle and cargo are secure and safe.
- Load and unload materials using excavators, loaders, or hand tools, adhering to weight limits and safety protocols.
- Navigate construction sites, urban streets, and highways with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation as required by DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site supervisors to coordinate schedules and material needs.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience driving dump trucks and heavy haul vehicles (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Physically fit and able to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and handle the physical demands of the job.
- Must be willing to undergo a background check and drug screening.
