Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy dump trucks to transport various materials (soil, rock, asphalt, gravel) to construction sites and disposal areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload materials using standard loading equipment while ensuring weight distribution is correct.
- Maintain accurate driver logs (ELD) and daily trip reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and site supervisors regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols at all times.
- Keep the cab and truck bed clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the appropriate endorsements (Class A or Class B with Tanker endorsement preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience operating dump trucks in a commercial setting.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card).
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and vehicle maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret maps and GPS systems for efficient route planning.
- Must pass a background check and drug screen.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physical environments.
