Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks on dedicated routes from Virginia Beach to regional distribution centers
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate electronic logs
- Coordinate with dispatch teams to optimize delivery schedules and troubleshoot route challenges
- Ensure cargo security and proper handling during transit
- Comply with all FMCSA regulations, HOS guidelines, and company safety protocols
- Build strong relationships with dock staff and warehouse personnel
- Document delivery exceptions and maintain detailed shipment records
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 2 years OTR experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving) in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and random drug screening
- Proficient in electronic logging devices (ELD) and route navigation systems
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Flexibility for overnight stays and weekend shifts as needed
- Experience with hazmat or tanker endorsements preferred
