Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently to deliver freight on time and within budget.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment and techniques to prevent damage.
- Adhere to all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, delivery receipts, and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Conduct minor vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, safety standards, and hazardous material handling (if applicable).
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting minor vehicle issues.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
