What You'll Do
As a CDL Driver at Swift Transportation, you will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across the region.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial motor vehicles (Class A) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety of the cargo and the vehicle.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper securement and handling of goods.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to safety protocols and participate in ongoing safety training programs.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable Class A driving experience preferred.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as required.
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement methods and DOT regulations.
