Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers in accordance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing loads to prevent damage.
- Maintain accurate logs (ELD) and daily delivery paperwork.
- Adhere to all company policies, safety procedures, and DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B (Clean driving record required).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving practices.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
