Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (Class A) on local and regional routes in and around Nashville.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Load and unload cargo securely, verifying manifests and ensuring all freight is handled with care.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records in strict accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies to ensure the well-being of the crew and the public.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Uphold the company's reputation for punctuality, reliability, and excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Clean driving record (MVR check) with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- High school diploma or GED preferred; equivalent experience is accepted.
- Basic computer skills for handling paperwork and logs.
- Willingness to undergo Class A training if you possess a permit or are a new driver.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks during loading/unloading.
