Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 commercial vehicles to transport freight across NYC and surrounding areas
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules while maintaining DOT compliance
- Complete pre-trip inspections and maintain accurate logbooks
- Load/unload cargo with proper equipment and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Identify and report vehicle maintenance needs
- Manage time efficiently to meet tight delivery windows in urban environments
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Familiarity with NYC traffic patterns and delivery regulations
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Strong attention to safety and detail-oriented mindset
- Flexibility to work early mornings and weekends as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
