Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers on dedicated routes
- Load/unload freight using forklifts and pallet jacks
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and vehicle maintenance
- Adhere to FMCSA regulations and safety protocols
- Communicate with dispatch regarding route status and delays
- Minimize fuel consumption through efficient driving practices
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year of recent tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Knowledge of Chicago metro area and Midwest region
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Flexibility for occasional overnight trips
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging
- Team player mentality with customer service focus
