Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A) to transport freight on assigned routes in a timely manner.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance and report any defects.
- Manage electronic logging devices (ELD) accurately to adhere to Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring cargo security during transit.
- Maintain a clean and professional driving record, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Complete all required paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts, accurately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no recent major violations.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, if necessary.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
