Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for local/regional routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs
- Load/unload freight with precision using appropriate equipment
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on road
- Deliver goods to diverse locations including warehouses, distribution centers, and retail outlets
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of Chicago metro area and surrounding states
- Proficient with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Previous hazmat endorsement preferred
