Responsibilities
- Operate dry van trailers with 48' reefers for temperature-sensitive cargo
- Execute pre-trip inspections and DOT compliance documentation
- Maintain electronic logs via Qualcomm ELD system
- Coordinate with dispatch for efficient load/unload timing
- Implement defensive driving protocols for nighttime conditions
- Monitor cargo security and integrity throughout transit
- Complete post-trip vehicle maintenance reports
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean 3-year MVR
- Minimum 1 year OTR experience required
- TWIC card and Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Kansas City metro area geography
- Experience with reefer temperature monitoring
- No preventable accidents in past 24 months
