Responsibilities
- Operate commercial trucks and trailers safely and efficiently on local and regional routes within Washington DC.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper documentation and handling procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily logs (ELD) and delivery receipts in a timely manner.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B with appropriate endorsements.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of Washington DC area streets, traffic patterns, and weight restrictions.
- Ability to lift and handle cargo weighing up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
