Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely drive commercial trucks and vans to deliver freight to designated locations on schedule.
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Cargo Handling: Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring all items are properly secured for transport.
- Compliance Documentation: Maintain accurate logs, mileage records, and delivery paperwork in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Safety Adherence: Follow all traffic laws, company safety policies, and traffic signals at all times.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients and dispatchers to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintenance: Report any mechanical issues or vehicle damage immediately to maintenance personnel.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL: Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with the required endorsements.
- Clean Record: A satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) with no major traffic violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screen.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to use a two-way radio or mobile communication devices.
- Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines and route schedules.
