Responsibilities
- Operate commercial Class A trucks in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo safely, utilizing forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand jacks as required.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and ensure all paperwork is up to date.
- Adhere strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (Class A) with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam and drug screening.
- Willingness and ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM).
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic logging and reporting.
