Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Safely operate commercial tractor-trailers to deliver freight to designated destinations on time.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual techniques, ensuring proper securing.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws and company policies.
- Represent the company professionally at customer sites and weigh stations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) issued by the state of Louisiana.
- Current Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable Class A driving experience.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence.
