Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for local deliveries within the Chicago area
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records
- Inspect vehicles before/during/after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Complete required paperwork and maintain organized documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Familiarity with Chicago area roadways and delivery zones
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle inspections
- Strong time management and route planning skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
