Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles following all traffic laws and company policies to ensure the timely delivery of goods.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify any mechanical issues or safety hazards before and after each shift.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing freight to prevent damage.
- Manage delivery documentation, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and trip logs, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and hours of service (HOS) requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license issued by the state of Missouri.
- Clean driving abstract with no recent serious violations or DUIs.
- Current DOT medical card or the ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination.
- Basic math skills and the ability to read and comprehend maps and delivery instructions.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as per company policy.
- Strong time management skills to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to part-time schedules.
