Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B) to transport goods throughout Washington DC and surrounding regions
- Maintain meticulous delivery logs and comply with all DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Plan efficient routes while navigating complex urban environments and traffic patterns
- Perform pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Collaborate with dispatch team to ensure timely deliveries and exceptional customer service
- Handle hazardous materials shipments when required with proper endorsements
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Strong knowledge of Washington DC metropolitan area geography
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
- HAZMAT endorsement preferred but not required
