Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A) for regional freight transport
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Plan and execute efficient delivery routes across Illinois and surrounding states
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs
- Load/unload freight with proper handling techniques and equipment
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and warehouse teams
- Document delivery status and resolve minor in-transit issues
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations and hazmat procedures (plus endorsement preferred)
- Strong time management and route optimization skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Flexibility for overnight trips and weekend shifts as needed
