Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B CDL) to transport goods within Washington DC and surrounding areas
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation in compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Perform pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team and clients regarding delivery status
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and optimize routes for efficiency
- Ensure secure cargo loading/unloading procedures
- Represent Capital City Logistics with professionalism in all client interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year of verifiable CDL driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Familiarity with Washington DC metro area and local traffic patterns
- Strong attention to safety and regulatory compliance
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and load balancing
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including early mornings and weekends
