Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B) for time-sensitive deliveries
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain DOT compliance logs
- Coordinate with dispatch teams for route optimization and real-time updates
- Handle specialized freight including temperature-controlled and hazardous materials
- Conduct minor maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly
- Ensure cargo security and proper loading/unloading procedures
- Adhere to FMCSA regulations and local traffic laws
Qualifications
- Valid CDL license (Class A required, Hazmat endorsement preferred)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
- Knowledge of D.C./Illinois metro routes and infrastructure
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work variable shifts
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Experience with electronic logging devices (ELD)
