Responsibilities
- Operate Commercial Vehicles: Safely operate Class A trucks and trailers to deliver cargo to designated locations on time.
- Vehicle Inspection: Perform mandatory pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Cargo Handling: Secure cargo properly and assist with loading and unloading to prevent damage.
- Route Navigation: Utilize GPS systems and road maps to navigate efficiently, avoiding traffic and adhering to delivery schedules.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate logs (DVIR) and complete all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading and delivery receipts.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers and dispatchers to ensure satisfaction.
Qualifications
- CDL Requirement: Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A is required. (Class B with tanker endorsement is a plus for some roles).
- Driving Record: Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Eligibility: Must be 21 years of age or older to operate a commercial vehicle across state lines.
- Background Check: Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and a background check (drug screen included).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and ability to read maps and GPS devices.
