Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and delivery vehicles to various customer locations in the Bakersfield area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo using proper equipment, ensuring items are secured and handled with care.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and delivery logs.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
- Report vehicle maintenance needs and damages immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A required.
- Must possess a clean driving record (MVR) with no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and drug screening.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable truck driving experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of map reading and GPS navigation.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
