Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks and trailers in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing methods.
- Maintain accurate logs (Electronic Logging Device - ELD) and delivery documentation.
- Navigate routes efficiently to meet delivery deadlines while adhering to traffic laws.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding status, delays, and special handling instructions.
- Report mechanical issues and accidents immediately to fleet management.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Must possess a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major violations in the last 3-5 years.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and cargo securement procedures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and occasional overnight travel within Texas and Ohio.
- Basic computer skills for logging and communication.
