Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A) safely and efficiently across designated routes in the New York and Illinois area.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours and delivery records using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD).
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring proper handling of freight.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and DOT regulations at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any potential delays.
- Represent the company professionally while on the road.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Must be at least 21 years of age for interstate commerce.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Willingness to undergo a background check and drug screening.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
