Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial tractor-trailers to deliver freight on time and within budget.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring damage prevention.
- Maintain accurate logs using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD) in accordance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, traffic signals, and right-of-way rules at all times.
- Keep the truck and trailer clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.
- Willingness to obtain a CDL Class A if currently holding a Class B or no license.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no DUIs or major violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong willingness to learn and follow safety protocols.
- Basic English reading and communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally during loading/unloading.
