Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles in accordance with FMCSA regulations and company policies.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment (forklift, straps, chains) ensuring cargo security.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and logbooks.
- Navigate delivery routes efficiently, adhering to time schedules and traffic regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and delays.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and hazardous material handling procedures as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience (preferred).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, hours of service (HOS), and safety standards.
- Basic computer literacy for digital logbooks and reporting systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
