Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on regional and intercity routes including North Carolina and Texas.
- Adhere to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), and safety protocols.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical reliability and safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate lifting equipment and handle freight handling with care.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and logbook entries.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch regarding route changes, traffic delays, and delivery status.
- Uphold a professional image and maintain a clean driving record.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean MVR record (no more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, map reading, and GPS navigation systems.
- Willingness to travel to Texas and operate in various weather conditions.
- Must be at least 21 years of age for interstate commerce.
