Responsibilities
- Safely operate 24ft to 26ft box trucks for local and regional deliveries within the Portland metro area.
- Load and secure cargo using straps and binders to ensure 100% safe delivery.
- Manage all necessary paperwork, including Bills of Lading, delivery receipts, and fuel logs.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch regarding traffic, weather conditions, and pickup/delivery delays.
- Maintain a professional appearance and represent Oregon Freight Network with integrity.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the truck cab and cargo area.
Qualifications
- Must own a 24ft to 26ft Box Truck (leasing options may be available for qualified applicants).
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred but not always required for Box Trucks (depending on load weight).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience with a box truck or similar commercial vehicle.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no recent DUIs or major traffic violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and background check.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact professionally with shippers and receivers.
- Basic computer skills for logging and reporting.
