Responsibilities
- Safely operate box truck for regional freight delivery within Virginia and surrounding states
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for all shipments
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route planning and time-sensitive pickups
- Perform daily pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Manage inventory verification and secure cargo handling procedures
- Submit weekly mileage and expense reports for prompt settlement
Qualifications
- Valid Class B CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years box truck or commercial driving experience
- Reliable 24-26 ft box truck (2008 or newer) with current registration and insurance
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in varying weather conditions
- Smartphone with reliable data access for dispatch communication
- Strong time management skills and punctuality adherence
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor roadside troubleshooting
