Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for overnight freight delivery across Illinois
- Maintain strict adherence to DOT regulations and HOS compliance
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and document maintenance needs
- Coordinate with dispatch for real-time route adjustments and delivery updates
- Secure and verify cargo documentation at multiple warehouse locations
- Utilize GPS navigation systems for efficient transit planning
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
Qualifications
- Valid CDL-A license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable OTR experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM) with variable schedules
- Pass background check and drug screening per DOT requirements
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and freight handling
- Strong communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
