Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailer trucks for regional deliveries and long-haul routes
- Plan and optimize routes using GPS technology to meet delivery deadlines
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload cargo with proper handling techniques and securement protocols
- Comply with all DOT regulations, including HOS and FMCSA guidelines
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team regarding route status and delays
- Document delivery paperwork and handle customer interactions professionally
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean MVR
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical and pre-employment drug screening
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD) and route planning software
- Strong defensive driving skills and weather adaptation capabilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Flexibility for overnight travel and weekend shifts as needed
- TWIC card or willingness to obtain for port access routes
