Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A) for freight transport across designated routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections and maintain accurate logbooks
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations, safety protocols, and delivery schedules
- Load/unload cargo with proper securing techniques and documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding shipment status
- Manage delivery paperwork and maintain digital tracking systems
- Respond proactively to route changes and traffic conditions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Familiarity with Chicago metro area navigation and traffic patterns
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and weight distribution
