Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Supervise student loading/unloading with safety protocols
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident reports
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Respond to emergencies following district safety procedures
- Adapt routes for field trips and special events as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid California Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- School Bus Endorsement (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements
- Pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination
- Clear criminal background check and fingerprint clearance
- Minimum 2 years driving experience
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
