Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school and school-sponsored activities in accordance with established routes and schedules.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers while on the bus, maintaining a secure and orderly environment.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is mechanically sound and safe for operation.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring special needs students are accommodated as required.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school administrators, and dispatch regarding student behavior, delays, or emergencies.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, school district policies, and Department of Transportation regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Minimum of 1 year of verifiable driving experience (commercial or passenger vehicle) preferred.
- Clean driving record (no DUIs, reckless driving, or multiple moving violations in the last 3-5 years).
- Pass a criminal background check and a drug screen.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong customer service skills and patience.
