Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus along assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students while boarding, riding, and exiting the vehicle.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to verify mechanical safety and cleanliness.
- Maintain order and discipline on the bus, assisting students with special needs as required.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding schedule changes or student issues.
- Follow all district policies and procedures regarding student conduct and emergency procedures.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Clean driving record and satisfactory background check (including criminal history and driving history).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical examination.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with children and parents.
- Willingness to work early morning and/or afternoon hours.
