Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to and from school on assigned routes
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle safety compliance
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Handle student behavior management with patience and authority
- Adhere to strict traffic laws and district safety protocols
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations during transit
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- School Bus Endorsement and Passenger Transport Certification
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts if needed
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with children
- Completion of district's training program within 30 days
